Students review core skills by navigating the CodeHop Playground, revisiting key computer science vocabulary, and exploring coordinate-based animation.
Students review the parts of a computing system and learn to recognize cyberbullying and other harmful online behaviors and how to respond.
Students use events to control program behavior and practice debugging by breaking a program down into steps.
Students use loops to create artistic turtle-graphics patterns and build multi-scene animations.
Students use conditionals to guide decision-making, plan and decompose interactive projects, and apply operators to create randomized outcomes.
Students use variables, lists, and comparison operators to build dynamic games and simulations, including an introduction to classes and objects.
Students use clones to build reusable game elements and create functions with inputs to organize and personalize their code.
Students apply their programming skills to design an original game and use the design thinking process to build an app that solves a real-world problem.
Students visualize data, learn how network protocols and machine learning work, practice giving proper attribution, and explore basic cryptography.

The course builds on foundational programming through a block-based language, guiding students through sequences, loops, conditionals, variables, lists, clones, and functions.
