UNITS - 9 (35 lessons)
Students learn sequencing by giving and following step-by-step instructions through movement and collaborative games, no computer required.
Students learn how to log in, use a mouse and keyboard, identify parts of a computer, and practice safe and responsible technology habits.
Students follow a story-driven adventure to learn the basics of a block-based programming interface, including adding characters, scenes, and simple motion.
Students build on sequencing skills by exploring events, visibility, and size-changing blocks to create interactive scenes and animations.
Students learn to build programs with multiple pages and connect them so a story or project can move between scenes.
Students experiment with speed and sound blocks to animate characters, personalize their own programs, and practice basic debugging.
Students learn to use loops, including forever loops, to repeat actions and create continuous animations.
Students apply everything they've learned to build original interactive games and animated scenes.
Students learn to find and organize information responsibly, understand how computers store data, and identify how to keep personal information safe online.
